I began my internship with AIRnyc on March 6. Previously, I worked as a Resident specialist at an asylum seeking shelter for immigrants. I am bilingual in Spanish, and am currently completing my associates degree in Community Health. My motivation to become a community health worker stems from my desire to advocate for individuals who may not have the ability to voice their needs. Although the issues in our communities are often recognized, they are not always effectively addressed. I aspire to be part of the solution and make a positive impact on people’s lives.
